Nancy G. Bullard

FALMOUTH — Nancy E. (Green) Bullard, 76, of Falmouth Heights died on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, from complications after surgery for a broken hip. Her devoted son, Michael Bullard of Orlando, Fla., was at her side throughout the hospitalization following her hip injury.

Nancy was an active member of the Falmouth community since 1955. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir for 30 years. She also was a longtime volunteer at the Falmouth Hospital.

Mrs. Bullard was born in Hartford, Conn., attended Barnstable High School, graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in West Hartford, Conn., and attended Bay Path Junior College in Longmeadow. Before moving to Falmouth, she worked at Angel Memorial Hospital in Boston and the Barnstable County National Bank in Hyannis. Nancy worked at Lawrence High School in Falmouth as a secretary for six years. Prior to retiring in 1995, she was secretary to three county sheriffs: Peter Tulloch, Jerry Bowes, and Jack DeMello.

She was a volunteer for the Falmouth Hospital, Woods Hole Library, and the Falmouth Historic Society. She was a member of Animal 911 Rescue and of the Red Hat Society.

In addition to her son, Michael, she leaves his wife, Linda; two grandchildren, Jason Bullard and Michelle Bullard of Orlando; a brother, Alan Green of Centerville; a cousin, Susan King Bassick of Paxton; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, in St. Patrick's Church, 511 Main St., Falmouth. Burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Centerville. Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 9, in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main St., Falmouth.
