WEST YARMOUTH —

George A. Van Voorhis, 86, died at his home in West Yarmouth on Friday, Dec. 7, 2007. He was the beloved husband for 60 years of Jacqueline (Tully) Van Voorhis.

Born and raised in Newburgh, N.Y., he attended Columbia University and Albany College of Pharmacy. He served with the Army during World War II in the European theater.

A former resident of Delmar and Loudonville, N.Y., he moved to Cape Cod in 1988. After a long career in sales he enjoyed working at CVS in South Yarmouth for many years. He was a parishioner at St. Pius X Church in South Yarmouth, where he was a member of the choir, served as an usher, and took part in many of the parish theatrical and musical productions.

In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Gary J. Van Voor-

his of Ellington, Conn.; two grandchildren, Adam P. Van Voorhis of Stafford Springs, Conn., and Emily C. Stone of Richmond, Vt.; and two great-grandchildren, Joshua and Adrianna.

The Van Voorhis family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 10, at the Morris & O'Connor Funeral Home, 58 Long Pond Drive, South Yarmouth. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, South Yarmouth. Burial with military honors will follow at Chandler Gray Cemetery, West Yarmouth.

Jacqueline and family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I worked with George at CVS in S. Yarmouth for many years and had alot of laughs. We used to joke that he was my adopted father. He was a great guy to work with and always kept me laughing. I will miss him alot.
