Bessie Hearn Obituary

Bessie M. Hearn
Mrs. Hearn, 98, of Charlotte passed away on Monday, March 2, 2009 at Charlotte Mecklenburg Health Care Center. Her family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 3700 Forest Lawn Drive. Services in celebration of her life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Weddington Chapel of Heritage Funeral Home officiated by The Reverend Canon M. Filmore Strunk, Jr. Interment will follow the service at Forest Lawn East Cemetery in the Westminister Garden.
Mrs. Hearn was born on March 13, 1910 in Marlborough, MA, daughter to the late Howard and Bessie Settle MacGinnis. Prior to retiring, she was a Licensed Practical Nurse and then focused all her time and love not only to her family but also to all of her church family both in Marlborough, MA and All Saints Anglican Church in Charlotte, NC. While living in Marlborough, she sang in the church choir, was on the Alter Guild and was a member of the Holy Trinity Circle. Some of her favorite past-times were playing scrabble, an avid game-show watcher, square dancing and camping with her family. She was a loving, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Bessie will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her children, Nancy L. Bryan and husband William S. Bryan, Jr. of Pineville, NC and Patricia H. Clements, of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Veronica J. Storey and husband Robert, of Matthews, Army Staff Sergeant Thomas A. Larson, of Charlotte, Nancy Noussairi and husband Brahim, and Jeffrey Clements, and great-grandchildren, Leila and Ryan Noussairi, all of San Antonio, TX.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory should be made to the All Saint's Anglican Church Building Fund at 1312 Matthews Mint Hill Road, Matthews, NC 28105.
Arrangements for the family are in the care of Heritage Funeral Home, Weddington/Matthews Chapel. An online guestbook is available www.heritagefuneral.net.

Nancy & family:
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. It's a blessing that she had such a full life almost making it to her 99th birthday! From the stories you told me, it's easy to see where you get your "spunk." May all the wonderful memories remind you of the love you had for her and her's for you! Hope to see you tonight at the visitation. Deepest sympathy, Mary
