James Harrison Obituary

James Alan Harrison
LAKE NORMAN -- Mr. Harrison, suddenly and unexpectedly went home to be with God and his parents on March 1, 2009. He was a loving son of the late Peter and Margaret Harrison, loving brother to Peter Harrison Jr. of Charlotte and Virginia 'Ginny' Devine of Hickory, and loving uncle to William 'Buddy' and Sarah Devine and Paige and Jordan Harrison.
He was born December 20, 1966, graduated Carson Long Military School in 1985, and served our country proudly in the U.S. Army from 1985 to 1993. James will be remembered for his love of Lake Norman and his willingness to lend a helping hand. He will be missed more then he would know and more then he would expect.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Landing restaurant in Terrell, NC Friday March 6, between 6 and 8 p.m.

It was far too soon for any of us to have lost such a wonderful friend. James always greeted us with a big smile and an open heart. There are no words to describe the loss to our lake community.
You will be missed.

I haven't seen James in several years and his early death came as a shock. I will remember James as a kind and gentle man who loved being a pyrotechnician, his boat and his boat "buds". I hope his family and friends will find comfort knowing James was loved and that our thoughts and prayers are with them.

I had the pleasure of meeting James at The Boat Rack and know of the special bond formed with all the "Boat Rack Buddies". Their love for the water, boating and each other make them all a unique group of caring people. I will continue to keep the family and friends of James in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Ginny and Pete: My heart broke when I heard the news about James. He was very special to me and we shared many memories. The one thing I know is that Peg was waiting for him with open arms and I hope that will bring you peace. He will always be a part of all of us who loved him.

Our sincere condolences to James's family for their loss. James was a great friend and will be truly missed by us and many others. We can't imagine being around the lake without him there. We are sure if there are waterways in Heaven, James is cruising on them right now. We are proud to have known James and to have been able to call him a friend.
