Bruce Tomberlin, Jr.
'Bobby'
MONROE -- Mr. Tomberlin, 68, of Monroe, passed away Tuesday evening, March 24, 2009, at his home. Son of the late Robert Bruce Tomberlin, Sr. and Carrie (Watkins) Tomberlin, he was born March 24, 1941, in Concord, NC.
Robert is survived by his wife, Delorce (Furr) Tomberlin of the home; son, Bruce (Jill) Lee Tomberlin, of Monroe, NC; daughters, Diana Tomberlin of Oklahoma and Christy (Alan) Byrum, of Monroe, NC; and brother, Rodney Tomberlin, of Oakboro, NC. Robert worked most of his life as a machinist for Van Guard Supreme.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Unionville Baptist Church with the Revs. Hank Parker and Dac Croasman officiating. Burial will follow at the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Monroe. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Unionville Baptist Church.
