Erva Ziegler Obituary
Ms. Ziegler, 88, of Charlotte, peacefully passed from this life to the next on August 9th, 2009, of natural causes.
A service to celebrate her life will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Giles Presbyterian Church, 2027 Emerywood Drive in Charlotte. Pastors Steve Keller and Percy Burns will officiate. A private burial service will be at a later date.
Ms. Ziegler was born July 26, 1921, to Andrew and Callie Owens. Although she overcame many physical and emotional obstacles to become a solid Christian, her faith was strong and her love for her family could not be moved.
Ms. Ziegler is survived by her 7 brothers and sisters; Joseph Owens, Allen Owens, Margaret Warrick, Sara Freeman, Sybil Eccleston, Ruby Warrick, Ethel Atcherly, 4 loving grandchildren and their families; John Ziegler, Seth Crocker, Brittany Simmons and Melanie Crocker along with 6 great-grandchildren along with son and daughter-in-law Elbert Crocker and Elizabeth Ziegler.
She was preceded in death by both of her children, Thresa Z. Crocker and John W. Ziegler Jr., her husband John W. Ziegler Sr., her parents Andrew and Callie Owens and 2 brothers Lee and Andy Owens. Indeed, her family is together again!
Arrangements are with Lowe Funeral Home of Matthews.

I remember her as Gram. That's what Brittany, Seth, & Melanie called her. I use to see her at Winn Dixie every morning. I know how much everyone loved her and she will truly be missed. I wish I had known sooner so I could've said my goodbyes but now is as good a time as any. May God bless the family. I love ya'll always and forever.

Our prayers are with the entire family. Ms. Ziegler was one of the sweetest persons I have ever known. Know in your hearts that she is in a better place with a brand new body rejoicing with the Lord. God Bless all of you.

I will always remember Ms.Ziegler as Johns Grandma... Always a sweet person and a pleasure to be around. May god watch after you all in this time of sorrow and know that she is at home at the hand of god.
