Alexandra Gimon Obituary

IN MEMORY OF

Alexandra Marie Gimon
'Ally'
Ally, 19, of Little Rock passed away Monday, August 10, 2009, at Arkansas Children's Hospital surrounded by family and friends. Ally was born January 23, 1990, in Houston, Texas. She attended Pulaski Academy and Central High Schools and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Betty Floyd; grandfather, Michael Gimon; and uncle, Gary Gimon.
Survivors include her mother, Donna Floyd of Little Rock; father, Ron Gimon and his wife, Denise of Charlotte, NC; grandfather, Don Floyd of Cherokee Village; grandmother, Phyllis Gimon of Pittsburgh, PA; aunt, Marty Floyd and her husband Bill Goff of Little Rock; cousin, Lindsey Moore of Little Rock and many friends in Little Rock and Charlotte, NC.
In Ally's short time on earth, she touched her family and friends with her love, kind heart, great spirit and generous soul. Ally lit up the world with her beautiful smile. She loved animals, spent time volunteering at the Humane Society and planned to become a veterinarian. Although we grieve our loss, Ally will live on with her unselfish gift of life to others through organ donation. Ally has become a guardian angel for those who loved and cherished her.
Visitation will be at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. A celebration of Ally's life will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 13, at Christ the King Catholic Church with Reverend Monsignor J. Gaston Hebert and Deacon Victor Stepka as celebrants.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Serenity Park for Women, 2801 W. Roosevelt Road, Little Rock, AR 72204, or the Humane Society of Pulaski County, 14600 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock, AR 72210.

Donna, I only knew Ally a short time at Serenity, but the love and enthusiasm she brought with her was an inspiration to us all. She was a generous and caring person who always let me cry on her shoulder. I am sorry this happened to such a beautiful person. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Donna, May you find peace in knowing that Ally is now being watched over by Betty now and enjoying her fried okra and black eyed peas. Ally's beautiful spirit will be missed in this world, but others are experiencing it in heaven. We love you and will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

I have known Ally and her Mother for 5 years. Seeing Ally with her bright eyes and smile always warmed my heart. Sadly she has been taken too early, but we know she is in the arms of God and at peace. Her spirit will live on as well as her memories and her unselfish giving of herself to others, even at the end. She will be dearly missed. My prayers go to her family to give them strength to endure.
