Cloyd R. Selby, age 72, of Homer Glen. Beloved husband of Anna P. "Pat", nee Kerns; loving father of Denise (Michael) Hanes; dear grandfather of Joshua (Jennifer) Hanes; cherished son of Lillie and the late Egbert; devoted brother of Nila (the late Claude) Robinette, Ronnie (Gretchen) and Donnie (Gabrielle) Selby; uncle of many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Visitation Friday, 3 to 9 p.m. at Modell Funeral Home, 12641 W. 143rd Street, Homer Glen. Lying in state on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service 11 a.m. at First Church of the Nazarene, 12725 S. Bell Road, Lemont, IL 60439. Int. Fairmount Willow Hills Cemetery. Co-owner of Imperial Crane Service from 1971 until 1986. Owner of Selby's Aero Squad, Inventor and Designer of Selby's arm lifting beam. Member of Local #150 Operating Engineers. What a privilege to know Cloyd, and to be able to pray with him and over him in his last days. His testimony of being ready for heaven was clear, and we know in God's grace and promise he is in the presence of our Lord. Thank God. Dear Mrs. Selby, Denise and Family,
Although you have endured a great loss, there is always comfort in knowing a loved one is no longer suffering. What a lucky man Cloyd was to have had such a rich life. He left behind a wonderful wife, a daughter who epitomizes his character and strong will, and a grandson that made him so proud. We will remember Cloyd fondly and pray for all of you during your time of loss.
