Livia "Lili" Simon, 96, piano teacher, native of Budapest, longtime Evanston resident, passed away peacefully at home in the presence of Leonie Flowers, her devoted caretaker for six years. Lili was a graduate of the esteemed Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, studying under Bela Bartok, Zoltan Kodaly and Ernst von Dohnanyi. She immigrated to the United States in 1956, where she taught piano to generations of students, retiring only six months ago. Beloved wife of the late actor, Miklos Simon and the late Hungarian painter, Gyorgy Szin; dearest mother of the late composer and pianist, Nicholas Simon; grandmother of Adam, Adele, Zoltan, Dante and Johann Sebastian Simon. A Memorial service is being held Friday, Nov. 17, 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 1012 Lake St., Evanston, IL 60201,
