My first production upon arriving from nyc was under the direction of Karl Mackey at the Beck Center in 1986, i have always remembered his combonation of toughness kindness,and his serch for truth in what the actor had to say,it has left a lasting empression on my present work as a director/choreographer,

I was 16 or 17 at the time that Karl cast me in "Remarkable Mr. Pennypacker", it was my first prod.
and what a joy to work with and for
Karl.
Years later I found that my older sister Liberty went to high school with Karl.
Rest in peace Karl.
