Lisa McCollough Obituary

Lisa Jo Miller McCollough, 47, died Friday, March 23, 2007.

Memorial service: 1 p.m. Sunday, April 1, at her home church, Christ Lutheran Church, 4409 Sycamore School Road, Fort Worth.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, Lisa requested donations be made to Community Hospice, 1111 Summit St., Fort Worth, Texas 76102.

Lisa was born Nov. 28, 1959, at Philadelphia Naval Hospital. She attended North Texas State University in Denton between 1978 and 1980. She transferred to Texas Christian University for 1980 through 1983. She proudly graduated with a B.S. in biology. She was a member of the Chi Omega sorority.

Her vibrant personality left this earth too early. We know she is with her father and is watching over us now. Lisa would light up a room with her smile and laugh. She will be missed by all who knew her.

With her vivacious personality, her stunning good looks, and her incredible intelligence, Lisa was someone you could never forget. She was the center of our circle of friends after we graduated from college and lived and worked in Dallas/Fort Worth. We loved her and never thought her time with us would be cut short. There is still so much to say and do. My thoughts and prayers are with her loving, gracious family who always welcomed Lisa's numerous friends with open arms and open hearts.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Lisa's family. She was a funloving person, that everyone's kids called "Aunt Lisa". She loved kids, animals, and she loved people. I am sorry that she suffered and that she was taken away from us so young. I know she is in heaven with her Father, looking down on her family. Everyone gets a second chance with God. Love and prayers,

My little sister found her comfort by Gods side
within his open hands and mystery.
she came into my life a tiny child,
hair platinum blonde and soft as a cloud
she walked beside all her family and friends
carrying her most precious gift...
...... her smile.
In life she walked tall and played hard
but the trials she bore opened her soul.
Lisa you will never be forgotten or forsaken.
In each of us a bit of you will always be,
and in the hearts of everyone you knew
your loss will forever be felt deep within our souls.
Memories of days before are soft in my thoughts.
A place on a lake, a large christmas tree
at the bottom of the staircase,
the same one that led to your bedroom.
I know i may not have been the best brother
and i wish my tears could have washed away your pain,
but wishing now for things that cannot be done
is not how the Lord wants things to be.
Your presence,
your being,
your smiling face
will now shine down on everyone forevermore.
And from our loss we will hopefully find your message
and to look at the sky is to remember you.
I know that in Dads arms you will be protected
and by Gods side you both will be safe.
You lived not in vain little one,
your life changed many others.
Your touch,
your laugh,
your beauty uncompared
in all those whose lives you entered will never fail.
So on this day when we grieve your departure
I ask everyone including God himself
to lower your heads one last time in sadness,
then look towards the heavens and let the sunshine in.
There is comfort in the sadness of loss,
but in acceptence and love we must go on.
The roads we travel may never converge,
but the life we lived as family will never change.
Never lose sight of the good times,
that is the message i have found in my tears.
SMILE like she did day after day,
hold each other closer than before
for one day we all must go to our maker,
and in your remorse know that we are all
getting older not necesarily smarter.
I have learned this day that there is no lesson in life
more important than the memories of you.....
......... touch
............love
.................reach out
never forget the beauty of what was
and now for eternity will be.....

(Lisa wants to dance,
lets all honor that until we meet again
i have added a song to this email,
yeah i know it aint very good
and i cant sing very well,
but it is me and thats all i can be
i dedicate it to my little sister
we all love you Lisa....)

love to all, joed

I worked with Lisa during the Katrina project through the City of FTW. I'll never forget how friendly she was. The very first time that I met her, she was sitting in a meeting room looking so pretty and concerned! I remember thinking to myself, wow she's really got it together! We shared many late night conversations, she would always listen and with undivided attention! She taught my daughter how to thread a needle and stitch a seam. Ya know, I have her bowl in my cabinet! She came over to my house to play cards and brought little sausages. I think back now how she must have been so sad, yet she still found the strength to my house to play cards. My girls immediatly remembered her room full of dolls, that was the first thing they said when I told them about Lisa. My son remembered her dog Stop-it. I know that she will be remembered. My heart goes out to the family!

With Love,
Lytte Greer

To Lisa's family, my thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow. I pray that your happy memories bring you comfort. I have known Lisa since 1989; she was professional, respectful, dedicated to her job, and proudly supportive of her coworkers, family and friends. Lisa never knew a stranger. She was a free-spirit, loving, outgoing, and cared deeply for her family, especially her parents. Lisa would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. Her spirit lives on in our hearts. May her soul, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
