Mary Citrano Obituary

WEST NEWTON Mary G. (Lupo) Citrano, 73, of West Newton, died Tuesday evening, June 24, 2008, at the Maristhill Nursing Home in Waltham after a lengthy illness. The daughter of the late Antonio and Mary (Speranza) Lupo, she was born, raised and educated in Waltham, where she resided until moving to Newton in 1976. Mrs. Citrano had been an employee at the Waltham Hospital and had assisted her late husband in operating the former Cousins Lunch restaurant in Jamaica Plain. Mrs. Citrano was predeceased by her husband, John Citrano; her sisters, Annie Martorilli, Rose Violante and Sylvia Tedescucci; her brothers, C. J. Gus Lupo and Anthony Violante, and her sister-in-law, Lorraine Violante. She is survived by her sister, Agnes and her husband, Vincent Lopez, of Waltham; her brother, Jim Violante of Waltham; her sister-in-law, Terry Lupo of Waltham, and her brothers-in-law, Umberto Tedescucci of East Boston and John Martorilli of Waltham. Her many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and extended family, also survive her. Services will be held on Saturday, June 28, at 9 a.m., from the Brasco and Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., Waltham, with a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Saint Michaels Cemetery in Boston. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 27, from 4 to 8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River St., Waltham, MA 02453.
