Ada Woodlee Obituary

DEDHAM Ada (Rufo) Woodlee, 88, of Dedham, died Tuesday morning, Sept. 2, 2008, at the Wingate at Brighton Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. The daughter of the late Donato and Blandina (Perruzzi) Rufo, she was born, raised and educated in the Brighton section of Boston, and had been a Dedham resident for over 35 years, moving there from Avon. Mrs. Woodlee was a retired bookkeeper having worked in her family business, Rufo Roads, for over 25 years, and with the Walcott Corporation for many years. A veteran of World War II, she had served with the Womens Army Corps. She had been the past president for both the Italian Womens Club of Boston and the Faro Charity Club, and had been a member of the Chatterbox Club. Mrs. Woodlee was the wife of the late H. Duane Woodlee, and sister of the late Daniel Rufo, Robert Rufo and John Rufo. She is survived by her daughter, Norma Lucia Woodlee of Dedham, and her sisters, Barbara and her husband, Dr. John Meola Sr., of Waltham, and Dolores Magane of Waltham. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews and her great-grandniece. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 5, at 9:30 a.m., from the Brasco and Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., Waltham, with a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at Saint Judes Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Brighton. Visiting hours will held at the funeral home are on Thursday, Sept. 4, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the AIDS Action Committee, 294 Washington St., 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02108.
