Pasqualina D'Angio Obituary

WALTHAM Pasqualina Theresa DAngio, 91, of Waltham, died Tuesday evening, Sept. 30, 2008, at Saint Patricks Manor, Framingham, after a lengthy illness. The daughter of the late Miguele and America Papa, she was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. When she became orphaned, she left the United States at the age of nine, to be raised by her maternal grandparents in Italy. She remained in Italy until after World War II. Pasqualina lived in Waltham, until her move to Saint Patricks Manor in Framingham in 2003. Pasqualina worked for many years as a seamstress in dress factories in Waltham and Lowell. In addition to sewing, she had other talents including knitting, crocheting and embroidery. As a volunteer for Waltham Hospital, Pasqualina knitted booties and bonnets for newborns. She enjoyed decorating for the holidays, and on her front porch every year, created a display of the Manger and the town of Bethlehem. Pasqualina was an avid gardener and, at her home in Waltham, flowers continue to grow. Although her mobility was slowed by Parkinsons in her later years, she maintained a strong spirit and appreciation for life. She was the loving wife of the late Aristide DAngio, and mother of late twin sons, Louis and Michael, who died in infancy. Pasqualina is survived by her beloved daughter, Elvira Fulchino and her husband, Philip, of Framingham; her devoted sister, Antoinette Damiano of New Jersey, and her cherished grandchildren, Gregory and Lisa Fulchino, both of Framingham. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 9 a.m., from the Brasco and Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., Waltham, with a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated in Saint Marys Church, Waltham, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham. Relatives and friend are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Oct. 3, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Flowers are appreciated or expressions of sympathy may be made in Pasqualinas name to National Parkinsons Foundation, Inc., Offices of Development, 1501 NW 9th Ave./ Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136-1494, (www.parkinson.org), or to Saint Patricks Manor, 863 Central St., Framingham, MA 01701.
