Nazie Coleman Thurston

Nazie "Nancy" Coleman Thurston, 75, of Mineral, departed this life Thursday, September 3, 2009, at the Martha Jefferson Hospital.

She was born October 14, 1933, in Louisa County, to the late Albert and Sarah Heart Coleman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Stewart; and a brother, Eugene Coleman.

Mrs. Thurston was retired from the Louisa Manufacturer Company where she was employed as a presser.

Mrs. Thurston is survived by her husband, Leroy Mitchell Thurston of Mineral; a brother, Lanston Coleman of Washington; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2009, at Mt. Gilliam Baptist Church Old Site. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The Reverend Sherman Thomas Pastor officiating.

A viewing will be held from 12 until 8 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2009, at the funeral home and the body will lie in state from 1 until 2 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2009, at the church.

Satchell's Funeral Service, Orange, is in charge of arrangements.
