Edna Wood Johnson

Mrs. Edna Wood Johnson, 93, of Crozet, Virginia, departed this life on Friday, July 3, 2009, at the Ruxton Healthcare Center in Staunton, Virginia.

She was born September 15, 1915, in Albemarle County, the daughter of the late Alexander and Georgia Dickerson Wood. She is the last member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her spouse, George Johnson.

She has many nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2009, at the Piedmont Baptist Church, Yancey Mills, Virginia, with the Reverend Dr. Virgil A. Wood officiating. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.

Lewis Funeral Home of Waynesboro, Virginia, has been entrusted with the service.
