Charles Paul Johnson, of Manchester, CT, died unexpectedly March 21, 2026, at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Chuck was born July 1, 1961, in Columbus, GA, to the late Harold John Johnson and Yvonne Mae Johnson, née Eccelston.
From a very early age, Chuck showed a deep talent for drawing and painting. As a young man, he had a love for the New England woods and spent time hiking and enjoying the outdoors. After graduating from Enrico Fermi High School, Chuck attended and graduated from Paier School of Art. He made his living in the graphic arts business, but spent his free time painting and creating beautiful fantasy illustrations.
Chuck appreciated classic movies and film making, especially the old black and whites. He shot his own movies with a 8mm camera and worked as a projectionist at a movie house.
Chuck's talent, love of art and dry wit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Chuck is survived by his mother Yvonne Moriarty of Windsor Locks, his brother Ed Johnson and sister-in-law Annie Johnson of Manchester, his sister Jamie Shim of Windsor Locks, as well as nephews Jack, William, Joshua and Noah and niece Chelsea.

I am very sorry for your loss, Chuck was a very good friend of mine over the years and I am saddened by his passing... I am sorry I won't get to pay my respects in person... Chuck and I spent many days together sharing our love of art... Chuck being the artist and I,the poet. I was able to purchase several paintings from Chuck over the last 25 years or so and I will cherish them even more.. he will be missed ,again I offer my heart felt condolences to his family.
