Mary Madden Obituary

MARY ELLEN "MICKER" MADDEN AGE: 56 WINCHESTER, VA Mary Ellen "Micker" Madden, 56, of Winchester, Virginia passed away on September 3, 2009 at the Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center in Winchester. Micker was born April 13, 1953 in Wilkes-Barre, PA; the daughter of Phyllis Howard Sprow VanFleet and the late James Roberts Sprow. She was a graduate of Roxbury High School class of 1971 and a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Jersey. She worked for the Winchester City Schools as the Technical Resource Teacher at John Handley High School, and was previously a Special Education teacher at Daniel Morgan Middle School. She is survived along with her mother of Budd Lake, NJ; two daughters, Abigail Beth Madden and Amanda Bryn Madden both of Winchester, VA; and two brothers, James D. Sprow of Levittown, PA and Keith A. Sprow of Port Charlotte, FL. She was preceded in death by her step father, Charles A. VanFleet. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester. Interment will be at a later date in New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions by sent to the Angel Fund, Winchester Medical Foundation, 1840 Amherst Street, Winchester, VA 22601. To Micker's family, my deepest sympathy. I was a friend in high school, with Micker, Chalene Lightcap,
Polly Brothers, Helene Svennevik, Pat Leonard, Tina Turner and Donna Wood. I have such warm memories of all the laughs we had, especially at a slumber party at Chalene's one night. God bless you and comfort you all!
