Robert Hunter Obituary

Hunter, Robert A.
North Chili: Age 84. peacefully passed away on Monday, July 7, 2008. Predeceased by his son, Erik, Survived by his loving wife, Louise, his children Gregg (Janice) Hunter of Dunstable, MA, Carolyn Hunter of Durango, CO and Jeanne (Adam) Micklin of West Chester, PA; grandchildren, Elsa and Greta Micklin, and brother, Vernon of Canandaigua NY. Upon graduation from Skaneateles High School, Bob joined the Naval Air Force during WWII. After serving his country, he graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, where he met and married Louise; his wife of 57 years. They moved to Rochester where Bob worked for Eastman Kodak as an Industrial Engineer for 35 years.
His integrity and interest in improving his community's environment resulted in him serving on and chairing Churchville-Chili's School Board, Monroe County School Boards Association, Chili's Planning Board, and Zoning Board of Appeals. As former president of the Rochester chapter of the American Institute of Industrial Engineers, Bob succeeded in placing Industrial Engineering problem choices on the New York State Professional Engineering licensing exam.
Bob enjoyed the outdoors with his family, including camping, canoeing, gardening and running/walking. His lively, quirky sense of humor will be missed by family and friends.
Bob's family would like to extend a sincere Thank You to Dr. Reynold Golden and the nursing staff at Unity Hospital and Hildebrandt Hospice for the compassionate care you gave to him.
Friends and family may gather at the Leo M. Bean and Sons Funeral Home, 2771 Chili Avenue, on Saturday, July 12th, at 4 pm - 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Study Group, 1351 Mt. Hope Ave, Ste 223, 14620, or the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, 2652 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY, 14623.
