Laura Sanchez Obituary
Victor: Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at age 54. She is predeceased by her mother, Amparo Villarreal; brother, Oscar Villarreal Jr. Laura is survived by her loving husband, Jose Sanchez; children, Miguel Sanchez and wife, Linda, Christina Hatfield and husband, Jamie, Veronica Keys and husband Kevin, Daniel Sanchez; granddaughter, Lauren Sanchez; father, Oscar Villarreal Sr.; siblings, Hector, Javier, Jorge, Rosie, Anita Chapman, Cecilia Frost, Ricky, Gracie.
Friends may call Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 at Lucey-VanVoorhis Funeral Home, 301 West Main Street, Victor. A Funeral Mass celebrating Laura's life will begin Friday morning at 10 o' clock at St. Patrick's Church, 115 Maple Avenue, Victor. Interment, St. Patrick's Cemetery. Gifts in her memory may be directed to American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Road North, Rochester, NY 14609.

I was so saddened when I found out Laura passed...saddened and surprised because I believed she would pull through this thing. I came to know Laura by working with her on the bilingual team. Suddenly, my fondness of her and endearing details of her life felt as if they were tearing through my heart. I was surprised since we hadn't seen each other for a while. I guess when one cherishes someone special it stays with you forever. My love and prayers go out to you.

Laura Sanchez was always my main "go to" person in the workplace. I could always rely on her for accurate, useful information and insights. Her integrity as a professional in the RCSD was second to none. I am so, so sorry for this unexpected loss. She will be sorely missed.

Words cannot describe the sorrow and hurt we all feel for this devastating loss. It is never easy to say farewell/goodbye to somone that is loved as much as Laura. HE will always give us the strength. As we remind ourselves "HIS will be done". Your Tia Eva keeps reminding us of all the great memories, like when Laura was small, she would dress this beautiful little girl, fix her hair with her "chongos" and get on the bus to downtown Laredo "para asar los pagos de Mama Tita".
