Hamlin, NY: On July 14, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Frieda; 1 daughter, Lisa (Dale) Erne; 1 son, James (Lisa); sister, Patricia (James) Collins; mother-in-law, Rose Farmen; 5 grandchildren, Mitchell, Ryan & Sean Erne, John & Danyel Shannon; several nieces, nephews & many close friends; granddogs, Zoey & Raven. Member of: Chairperson of RIT Mechanical Engineering Technological Industrial Advisory Board, and member of BOCES Industrial Advisory Board.
Friends may attend his Memorial Service on Friday, August 8th @ 11 AM in the chapel of ARNDT FUNERAL HOME, 1118 Long Pond Road (South of Maiden Lane). Private Interment. PLEASE OMIT FLOWERS. Contributions to American Cancer Society.

John was a good friend for many years. We shared our interest in cars and attended as many car shows both in NY and Florida as often as we could. When I had a heart attack in Jacksonville, FL this past October, John was right on the phone ready to drive up from Ft. Myers to help. He cared about his friends and will be missed by so many.

john shannon has been our friend for almost 50 years and will be missed very much. we talked almost daily. for many years we traveled together as a family.
