Arlene Grube Obituary

Grube, Arlene
Bellingham, WA: Arlene had a zest for life and held several jobs throughout the years, with her favorite being with the Whatcom County Library System at Central Services. She helped bring the Library System to the online age. Arlene traveled throughout much of the United States, from New York to California to Alaska. She was a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and an active member of V.F.W. She enjoyed many hobbies and activities, including sewing, quilting, ceramics, and of course, a love of reading.
Arlene is survived by her husband Eldred R. (Tubby) Grube; her daughters Meri Lou Anderson, Kathleen A. Wefer; son Emmett J. Grube; grandchildren Derek Holleman, Desi Holleman, Deven (wife Kerri) Holleman, Dani Kvamme, Doriana Anderson, Shane (wife Shannon) Wefer, Carey Grube, and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Emmett G. and Emma (Van Waas) Carey and brother, Emmett R. Carey.
Memorials may be made to the Whatcom County Library System, 5205 Northwest Dr., Bellingham, WA 98226-9092, or to the Arthritis Foundation: Washington Chapter, 3876 Bridge Way North #300, Seattle, WA 98103.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2008, 4:00 to 7:00PM and on Thursday, July 31, 2008, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 PM, at Greenacres Chapel, 5700 Northwest Drive, Ferndale, WA., followed by a Committal Ceremony at Greenacres Memorial Park.
