Macartney, Robert J.
Fowerlerville: Died on July 26, 2008 at age 82. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Decker Macartney, of Fowlerville; son, Robert (Nicole) Macartney, of Amherst, NY; daughter, Susan (Howard) Stillings, of Avon, NY; grandsons, Jonathan, Matthew, Stephen Johnson, Lysander Stillings; 2 beautiful grandbabies, Caralyn, Elizabeth Macartney; granddaughter, Larissa Stillings; special aunts, Florence Smith, Norma Spindler; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Light, Roma Dekouski; brothers-in-law, Alfred Decker, Douglas Lange; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a WWII Army veteran in the 635th Tank Destroyers, served in the European Theater, and decorated with the Bronze Star for bravery. He was employed by Bourjious, Inc. for 26 years as a plant manager. He owned Corbins Corners. He was also employed at AMA in LeRoy, NY. He attended Cornell University, U of R, and RIT. He also completed the required hours for his pilot's license. Member of the York Fire Company, American Legion, and many professional societies.
Friends are invited to call Friday 2-4, 7-9 PM at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 350 Genesee St., Avon where his Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 10 AM. Interment, Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Fowlerville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.

Betty,
Dad and I send out deepest sympathies for you and your family. I will miss knowing that my cousin is here on earth but will be happy that he is reunited with Aunt Millie & Uncle Bobby. Lots of love to you all
