Syracuse: 81, died Thursday at home. She was a loving mother, sister and grandmother who had a passion in caring for others. Predeceased by a sister, Margie Horan and a brother, John Karney. Survived by her former husband, Frank Drago; 5 children, Diane (Jim) Taylor, James (Robin), Peter Drago, Carol (Tommy) Knappich, Patty (Al) Ferrara; 11 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Bob and Joe Karney; nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Open House will be held from 2 PM into the evening at the home of Peter Drago, 190 Walworth Penfield Rd., Macedon, NY 14502. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Monday at Whelan Bros. Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at Noon in Holy Family Church. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday at Whelan Bros. Funeral Home, 3700 W. Genesee St. Contributions in Katie's name may be made to Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse, NY 13219.
