As a prior member of Zion Hill, I always admired Gladys. Her walk with Jesus, her talk, her style (especially the hair.) I would like to leave you with my expression of sympathy during this time.

The stairway to Heaven
Leads us to our Lord
Where we will meet Him
And receive our reward

Heaven has no place
For suffering and pain
Those who suffer
Are the ones that remain

Have no sorrow
For those in Heaven above
As we all know
They're happy and loved

The sympathy goes
To those who remain
Those who lost someone
Will feel much pain

I’m so sorry
About your loss
Stay focused on Jesus
And look to the cross

I asked the Lord
To comfort you
And give you strength
To help you through

To The Dixon family,
I am truly sadden by the passing of my Dear Friend Gladys. We shared so many memories that including fishing, eating crabs, playing cards, my children, camping, celebrating our birthdays which were three weeks apart, our last trip together to Los Angeles, CA (March 2007) and our many discussion about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She rejoiced with me during the good times and offered words of encouagement during my trials.

I know that she is smiling and dancing in heaven. I love her and she will be missed by me and my immediate and extended family.

To Gladys' family,
I am sorry for your loss. Gladys was a faithful champion for Christ. She made a powerful, positive impact on me. She was caring, generous, forgiving, and fun. I met Gladys 12 years ago through a co-worker when I moved to Rochester. I was a patron of hers off and on throughout the years. I would try different hairdressers and then eventually make my way back to Gladys. She welcomed me back with open arms each time. Over the years, Gladys and I became friends. We shared special moments together in her shop. We would sometimes go out to eat and celebrate each other's birthdays. She invited me and my children (Mikaela and Michael) to the birthday parties of her great-nieces and nephews and they would come to my children's birthday parties. She also took good care of my daughter's (Mikaela) hair. My children called her Auntie Gladys. If she had not seen me in a while, she would call me, as friends do, just to check on me and tell me that she missed me. When I needed day care for my children, she connected me with one of her friends, Faye Belches, who took very good care of my children until she moved to Mississippi. Precious babysat my children sometimes too. I have lots of good memories of Gladys, especially the times spent in her shop talking, praying, and listening to gospel music or sermons. She was so happy for me when I called to tell her that Leonard and I got married. I'm already missing her smile, her hugs, her laughter, her love for me and my children, her friendship, and her encouraging words.......

I pray that everyone who misses Gladys will remember what Jesus promised in John 14:18 and John 14:23-31 - I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you...

Our lives have been blessed by her sweet spirit.

It was a pleasure knowing Gladys. I've been knowing her since High school and she never changed. She was truly a warm and loving person and really loved the Lord. I will miss her and her beautiful smile and up-beat personality. I am praying that the Lord will comfort the family during this time of their great loss. And may they find peace and understanding that GOD knows best and he has it all under control. Love you Gladys.

To all of those who love and have enjoyed the blessings of Gladys in their lives- I am sincerely saddened by her passing. I know my God sits high and looks low, so I know He has our fragile hearts in His hands. We will miss her but are exceedingly glad that our Lord has called His servant home.

To the Dixon family .....my heart is sad and heavy with the passing of my dear friend and sister.
she was such a wonderful wonderful person and I will miss her dearly.

Whenever I came come for a vist, I could call her at anytime and she would make room on her calendar to do my hair and give me the royal treatment.

when my husband an I came home each year, before we left, we would have a large gathering and Gyayds was at each and every one because she was part of our extended family.

Always, a kind word for everyone, full of wisdom and was not ashamed of our Lord and Saviour. She shared the GOOD NEWS with everyone that listened and I know she is resting in God's kindom.....getting ready to do some hair.

Be strong, stay prayful.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your sister, aunt, and friend. I was a patron of Gladys' for the last ten years and she will be missed greatly. I know Gladys found Jesus as she always took time to try to enlighten me on what the Bible taught.
