Mary Elliott Obituary
Hamlin/Gates: On Sunday, August 17th, 2008 at age 80, after a brief illness. She was a devoted wife and companion to her husband of 62 years, Wilfred. She was a giving, loving mother and friend to daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl Rose (Leonard) Quinn of Webster, and Margaret Mary (Robert) Ecklund of Gates. She was a proud grandmother to, Jeffrey Scott Thomas (Erin Lewis) Quinn of Toronto, Amy Elizabeth (Mark) Terranova of Irondequoit, and Christine Rose (Eric) Ernst of Portland, Oregon. She was a vibrant great-grandmother to precious little Leo Joseph David Terranova. She leaves her faithful canine companions, Popi and Casey. Mary will be missed by her Ventura cousins, as well as other relatives and friends.
Mary was an alumni of Brockport High School, and lifelong resident of Hamlin, where she was active in Hamlin VFW Auxiliary. She was a Duffy Mott Company retiree. After moving to Gates, she worked at Wegmans Lyell Ave. Most recently, Mary was a volunteer for Lollypop Farm, sewing over 1000 "kitty blankets" for the shelter. Her memory will live on in her many sewing projects she completed over the years. She was an avid NASCAR fan, drum corps enthusiast and enjoyed music.
No prior calling hours. A Mass in celebration of Mary's life will be held at Newman Oratory, 101 Kenyon Street, Brockport on Friday, August 22 at 11 AM. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please honor Mary's memory with contributions to Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Road, Fairport, NY 14450. The family wishes to thank the staff at Hill Haven Nursing Home, Unit 2AB, for their kindness and caring over recent months. Ref:

Mary has been a friend for many years. My sympathy goes out to Cherle Rose and Margaret. When we both lived in Hamlin, Mary and I were close friends. We remained close even after we both left Hamlin. Mary was our sons Godmother. Beverly Knapp Flaherty. Steamburg, N.Y.
