Meier, Herbert R.
Greece: Monday, August 18, 2008 at age 82. Predeceased by his first wife, Janet (Zornow) Meier. Survived by his wife, Jean A. (Thorne) (Kerwin) Meier; sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Susan; Bruce and Janet Meier; daughters and son-in-law, Virginia and Jesús Barberia and Carol Meier; step-son, Michael Kerwin; step-daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Michael Zodarecky; Judy and Donald Henderson; grandchildren, Russell, Evelyn, Hannah, Olivia, Brittany, Brendon, Hayley, Alexandra, Jordanne, Veronica, Andrea, Jessica, Jamie, Bryanna, Raven, Matthew, Leah, Brian, Jill, Bradley, Scott and Jack; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Hayley; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. John Robb, his staff, the caregivers at Unity Health, and Hildebrandt Hospice for their special care given to Herb. He was a Life Member, past Chief and Commissioner of the Barnard Fire Department, past Commissioner of the Lakeshore Fire Department and a Navy Veteran of World War II.
Friends may call Thursday 2-4 & 7-9PM at the Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road. His Funeral Service will be held Friday 11:00AM at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 3000 Dewey Avenue. Interment, Falls Cemetery.
