Nicholas Popely Obituary

Popely, Nicholas James
Pittsford, NY: died of natural causes at the age of 67 on August 7, 2008 at home after having returned from his family's visit in Alaska. He was born in Painesville, Ohio on Aug. 12, 1940, the son of the late Nicholas and Rose Popely. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patricia O. Popely; sons, Keith and Theodore (Katherine); daughter Meghan (Keith) Popely-Kriebel; grandson, Jacob Popely-Kriebel, all of Alaska; sister Molly (Stephen) Prescott of Chautauqua, NY; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Barbara O'Leary of Tucson, Arizona; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Timothy and Paula O'Leary of Painesville, Ohio, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his sister Elizabeth (Lee) Husni of Gates Mills, Ohio.
After Nick graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Ohio State University in 1962, he spent his career in automotive advertising with the agencies of J. Walter Thompson, BBD&O and Campbell-Ewald. After retiring as a Senior Vice President, he found a new inspiration in teaching the GED Program at the Monroe County Correctional Institution.
A Memorial Service was held Monday, August 18 at the Hungarian Reformed Church in Fairport Harbor, Ohio. Any memorial donations in his honor should be made to the American Heart Association, 2113 Chili Avenue, Rochester, NY 14624.
