Elizabeth "Nina" (Uva)
Las Cruces, NM: Rose was born May 31, 1914, was the first of seven children born to Michael and Teresa (Del Santo) Uva in Highland, NY and raised in Poughkeepsie, NY. In October of 1934, she married Joseph P. Casciani, and moved to Rochester, NY where she proudly and lovingly raised and cared for five generations of her immediate and extended family.
After the death of her husband in 1988, Rose moved to Conesus Lake in Livonia, NY where she lived with her daughter Louise. In recent years, she took on a shared care-giving role as her daughter's health declined. Following the death of her daughter in 2007 Rose moved to Las Cruces, NM, but longed to return home on Conesus Lake.
Rose died August 24, 2008
Rose was predeceased by her husband Joseph, her daughters Louise (LuLu) and Virginia (Gina Hankins); her parents; great-great grandchildren Francis Wayne Smith, Michael Louis Myers Jr., and all but one of her siblings, her sister Angie (Tony) Collucio.
Rose is survived by her sons, Frank of Las Cruces, Joseph (Audrey) of San Diego; son-in-law, Lee (Kathy) Hankins of Rochester; grandchildren, Christine (Tim) Porter, and Cosette (Rod) Eaton of Las Cruces, Francis Casciani and his partner Scott Wilke and Joel (Betty) Casciani of San Diego, Leslie (Michael) Meyers, and Jeffrey Hankins of Rochester; great-grandchildren, Andrea (Dave) Swift of Baltimore, Erika Porter of Camp Pendleton, Gina Casciani of Las Cruces, Jessica Jimenez, Anna and Frankie Casciani of San Diego, Carly, Aaron and Tessa Meyers of Rochester; great-great grandchildren, Tyler Smith of Baltimore, Mayson Brooke Wilke of Forth Worth; and many nieces, nephews, friends and paisans.
Her family will receive friends SUNDAY 3-7pm and MONDAY 3-7pm at the funeral home. Friends are invited to meet the family TUESDAY 10:00 AM at ST. THOMAS THE APOSTLE CHURCH for her funeral mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
