Maher, Richard T.
Gates: Thursday, August 28, 2008. Predeceased by his sisters, Catherine Pestorius and Helen Russer; brothers, Walter "Bud" and William Maher. Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Joan; children, Jackie (John) McNall, Ted (Patricia) Maher, Martha Palermo and Michael (Mary) Maher; grandchildren, Meghan (Brian) McQuillan, Erin, Matthew, Maggie, Cristin, Tommy Maher, Andrew, Michael Palermo, Ryan, Claire Maher; great-grandson, Sean McQuillan; 1 brother, David (Diane) Maher; sister-in-law, Arlene Maher; many loving nieces and nephews. Richard was an active member of the Aquinas Alumni and a WWII Navy Seabee veteran Pacific Campaign, avid golfer, gardner and woodworker.
Friends may call at the Leo M. Bean and Sons, 2771 Chili Avenue, Sunday 1-4. Funeral Mass, Monday 10 AM at Holy Ghost Church, 220 Coldwater Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Aquinas Institute, or the Dominican Monastery of Mary the Queen, 1310 West Church St., Elmira, NY 14905.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the Maher family. We've been neighbors across the street for many years and have always enjoyed his pleasant waves hello while mowing the lawn. very sorry for your loss of a nice man!
