James Clinkscales Obituary

Clinkscales, James C.
Dexter: James C. Clinkscales, 71, of 12592 Rd. 464, Dexter, NY, died Friday at his home.
Mr. Clinkscales was employed at the Monroe County Hospital as a cook for 39 years retiring in 1991. He was born in Anderson, SC, February 10, 1937, a son of Bill and Annie Sharpton Clinkscales. He married Beverly Goodenough, March 30, 1957, in Rochester. Mr. and Mrs. Clinkscales resided in Rochester for over 40 years, spending summers at Guffins Bay, Dexter. The couple moved to Guffins Bay year round in 1997. Mrs. Clinkscales died August 15th.
Mr. Clinkscales enjoyed fishing, gardening and woodworking.
He is survived by 2 daughters and their husbands, Susan and James Weygandt, Gainesville, FL, Lori and Richard Bush, Piffard; 4 granddaughters, 3 great-grand-children; 3 brothers and their wives, Olin and Jeanette, Roy and Joanne, all of Rochester, Robert and Marwayne, Albion. 5 sisters and a brother-in-law, Sarah Clinkscales, Marilyn and James Powell, Linda, Brenda and Kim Newby, all of Anderson, SC. Several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 sisters, Barbara Jean Hardy, Doris Bowen, Thelma Clinkscales, and his step father, Harold Newby.
A memorial service will be Saturday, September 6th, 1pm, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Jim Weygandt, 12553 Rd 464, Guffins Bay, Dexter. Burial will be private following cremation. There are no calling hours. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of CNY, 120 Washington St., Watertown, NY 13601.
Arrangements are with the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown.
