I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. This note is from a childhood friend of Herb. I lost track of him as we lived separate but similar lives with the same interests and at Kodak for 34 years.
It is remarkable how he looks like I remember; I'd know him instantly had we ever crossed paths in all those years in Rochester and at Kodak Park.
I remember being at Herb's house off Lake Avenue, and helping him to wear in the bearings to improve the wheels and then testing them to choose the best for his race in the Soapbox Derby. Herb's dad had helped him set up a way to run in the bearings, and spin the wheels to see which ones would spin the longest times.
It was so exciting to see him win the race and go to Akron.
I don't remember much more to share, but we were good friends.
I'm sad that we did not keep in touch, and for his struggle against cancer and your loss.

Kathy (and family),
I am thinking of you at this time and know that you have stayed the course during your father's fight with lymphona. My prayers now are that you and your family would experience God's encompassing arms, His comfort close, His presence real, His grace sustaining. As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends..and sustained by God's everlasting love.
