Wilson, Ethel Irene
LeRoy: Ethel Irene Wilson passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2008, in Batavia, New York surrounded by her husband, Alonzo B. Wilson, Jr. and family. She was born on November 23, 1932, in Horseheads, New York, the daughter of Floyd and Nellie Swan-Williams. Ethel was married on February 26, 1949, to Alonzo B. Wilson, Jr. and they celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary this year in the home they shared in LeRoy, New York for the same number of years. Ethel Wilson was a retired employee of Dubois Plastics, Avon, New York.
She is survived by her four children, Karen Wilson of Rochester, New York, Wanda (Sherman) Wilson-Simpson of Mesa, Arizona. Rochelle (Linda) Wilson of Union Springs, Alabama and Alonzo Wilson, III of LeRoy, New York, eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Ethel was the eighth child born in her family. She also leaves her surviving sisters, Mabel Williams of Rochester, New York, Gladys Williams of Cleveland, Ohio and Phyllis Wilson of Holley, New York, and one surviving brother William (Melvina) Williams of Elmira, New York, and many loving nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was pre-deceased by two brothers Floyd Williams and Ray (Mary) Williams, and two sisters Rena (Lewis) Carrington and Catherine (William) McCall.
A memorial service will be held in Elmira, New York at a later date. Arrangements are currently being made by the family. In lieu of flowers, family and friends are asked to contribute to United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia, New York, or to the Anatomical Gift Program, University at Buffalo, Buffalo, New York.

Hello Junie and family!!!

I just wanted to extend my condolences to you. I have not lived in the area in over 15 years but often think about you all.
When I get back into Rochester, I will be making effort to contact one of the family members.
I am sorry for your loss. I remember Ethel as always cheerful and pleasant. May you find comfort that can only be given via our Lord Jesus Christ. Nadina Burrell Smith
