Dear Richard,
I am so sorry to hear about your Mom's passing. It has been many years since we have had any contact--we used to live next door to you on West Hickory St. I am your childhood neighbor, Joan Lahti Vernoy. My sister Jean just passed away on September 10th at the age of 63 from cancer. Her husband noticed Grace's obituary, so I wanted to express my condolences. Your Mom was a wonderful friend to my Mom over the years and she was also a fabulous cook. She gave me my first stuffed pepper when I was a toddler. Boy, did I get hooked on Italian food! Again, I am sorry to hear the news. My thoughts are with you.
Sincerely,
Joan
