Lynn Gordon Obituary

Gordon, Lynn Asa
Hilton: Suddenly October 2, 2008 age 71. Survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Helen Morlock Gordon; daughters Karen, Mary and Anna; brothers, Ron, Dick and Doug; sister, Carol; many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lynn was an Air Force veteran, graduated from Cortland State and was a retired physical education teacher and coach from East Rochester Schools. Lynn's creative ingenuity brought smiles to all. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his love of the Adirondacks, and of Lake Ontario where he lived for 30 years. His campiing adventures exploring the country always included visiting family and friends. He enjoyed bluegrass festivals, learning to play and sing himself. At home or on the go, the outdoors was his playground.
Lynn has donated his body to the University of Rochester Medical School. A family gathering will be held to honor him. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Hilton Ambulance/Fire Dept at 135 South Avenue Hilton NY 14468.

Dear Helen,

Daughn called this morning and told us of Lynn's passing. We are totally shocked and send our deepest condolences to you and the rest of his family. We will always remember Lynn as a genial and funny person with a great sense of humor and a good attitude towards life in general. Last summer at Lodi, he stopped by the camper to say hello and ended taking our garbage down to the dumpster -- but this was what Lynn was, always looking to help his neighbor.

He'll be missed.

Love,

Doug and Gay (in Dover Florida)

Dear Helen,
We just learned of Lynn's passing last night from Ev & Ernie.
Please accept our deepest condolences. Lynn will always be remembered for his playing, singing, and wonderful sense of humor. We have often wondered how many people tried to plug into your electrical pole or the tap into the water supply.
Please let us know if we can be of any help or support to you, we are not that far away.
Know that you are in our prayers.
All our Love.

Hi again Helen - I saw such an outpouring of love for both of you today. I am privilaged to be a part of the day. Everything was absolutely perfect.....and what I truly wanted to say today, and perhaps this is a better time , is that I know you, just like others of us -- will find peace and a soothing of the soul -- right there on our Alder Beach. I am soo very sorry for your loss but know that few have the marriage that you did --and what wonderful memories you packed into those 18++ years...with love and friendship....Marilyn

October 13, 2008

This is how we remember Lynn...
With a sense of humor as big as his generous and loving heart. Alexandria will always remember him as her Uncle, who drove 'The Big Red Truck' with her Aunt Helen to see her every year, faithfully. She and we looked forward to when it started to cool down in Tucson, because that meant the 'Big Red Truck' would soon be rumbling down our road and we would soon see the gleam of our our desert sun reflecting off of Lynn's head (-: ... we love him so!!!! And, will TRULY miss him. So....we choose to remember that shiny dome adorned with his Santa hat and a big broad smile on his face, which we KNOW is smiling today, seeing how many people adore him. We love you so much too Helen. The desert awaits your return, and so do we!
Love from all of us...even the dogs...

Dear Helen, We'll always treasure our memories of Lynn singing Whoa Mule & Y'all Come, sitting around the campfire and potluck suppers with Lynn cleaning up the scraps. We'll miss his imaginative solutions to problems and his great sense of humor.Love and Hugs-The Hammers

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

Dear Mrs. Gordon,

I am saddened by your loss. Your husband coached my friends, siblings and myself to a Sectional Swimming Championship in 1985. I can still remember his distinctive voice during practice and gym class. He will be missed by many.

You are in our prayers,

Steve Potter

Dear Helen,
Though it's been a long time since we've seen you both, we have always pictured you with a smile on your faces that reflected the happiness in your hearts. Although words can do little to help heal your grief, may it comfort you somewhat to know how many others share your loss. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
