Bassett, William G.
Dansville: on 10/10/08 at age 80. Husband of fifty nine years to Betty Gell Bassett. Father of Gerald of Tallahassee, FL;, Paul of Wayland; Alex of Ossian; Pat Comardo of Mt. Morris; Sandra Staheli of Ontario; brother of Raymond of Orlando, Fl., also survived by 19 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours Tuesday 2-4 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville, where services will be held at 4:00 pm. Interment will be at the convience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dansville Ambulance Fund, PO Box 235, Dansville NY 14437, or the Dansville Fire Department Fund, Franklin Street, Dansville, NY 14437.

Betty and family, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I always thought Bill was a wonderful man. He was always so nice to all of us at the SNF in Geneseo when we worked with Betty. I hope he is now at peace. God Bless you all.

I will always remember going to the gas station with my Mom, and Mr Bassett giving out bubble gum to all of us.. it was a treat for us... he will be remembered for his kindness, sincere condolences to his family at this time of loss..

So sorry to hear about your loss! I remember Bill when he ran the gas station in Dansville. We often went there when we visited our grandma- Myrtle Rodgers. He was a great guy!
