It is hard to believe that a month has gone by without your smile, your laugh or one of your great hugs. Some days feel harder than others, but always Al we will keep our promise to you that we will watch over your family. Your wife is like a sister to me, just like you were like a brother to me. Missing you, but forever grateful you were in our lives. We were so blessed to have you. Love you.

Fengert,
Best friend in grade school. Best mate in high school. Room mate in college, room mate after college, co-worker at Kodak. We married sisters. Uncle to my children. Lived next door. We always laughed and laughed. So many memories. A brother forever. A constant bright light in my life. Certainly life will be a little less sweet without you. But we'll carry on and remember you always. I'm really sad now, but I'll talk to you later, and like always, I will feel better. I'll laugh; a big deep belly laugh until I can't breath, then I'll calm down and look at you and you'll crack up and we'll start all over. Just like always. Love you, brother.

I have known Alan since High School, he was ALWAYS one of the NICE GUYS! He always had a big smile on his face, and a kind word. During the past seven years of his illness, when I would visit him, I would tell him how much I admired him for being so strong and for having such a positive outlook..he said that was the only way to be. I have never known ANYONE that had such a positive outlook on life under the circumstances!
He had such love for Holly, Max and Erin, and it showed!
Holly, Max & Erin, I am so sorry for your loss of your husband and father, and our friend..we will miss him very much and wish God's Blessings on you all and ask that He help you get through the rough days ahead, Stay strong! With love from Patty Beauchamp Pierce

I've known Alan as long as I've known my husband Rod. They were best friends and later brothers-in-law. Uncle to my children, spouse of my sister, neighbor and friend. I will miss you terribly, but the memories of all the good times our families shared will fill the hole your passing left in our lives! Peace Al

I worked with Al for a few years at Delphi, Lee Road plant, and always saw him smiling. Must have been all the love from his family that kept that smile going. He was a great guy, and we will miss him.

I knew Alan for 25 years, I had met Holly at their home many years ago and always thought, what a wonderful and beautiful family Alan was blessed with. Alan was a friend, co-worker and positive influence in a world that has its share of negative people. His courage in fighting his illness has been an inspiration, his spirit was always a joy to be around. Alan influenced my life, brought a smile to my face, and lived as a true gentelman. Knowing Alan has made me a better person.
My heart goes out to Holly and his family. Alan will be very sorely missed.
God bless,

We met Holly and Alan in our first birthing class. Max was the first to arrive and your positive experience gave us all the courage to continue. We are glad our children became friends and hopefully that friendship is a support system now and in the future. You shall remain in our thoughts and prayers.

My thoughts and prayers are with Alan?s entire family in your time of grief. May your memories as a family bring you comfort. His illness took him too soon from his family, his friends, and all his co-workers at Delphi who could always count on his help and his great smile.

My wife and I send our sincere condolences to Holly, their children and the rest of the Engert family. Al was a very close friend of mine over the last six years where we worked together at Delphi. I often told Al he was my hero. I never met anyone that faced such serious illness for so long with such a positive attitude. He will be missed very much.

I went to school with Alan and was on some of our class reunion committees with him and always had so much fun. He was a wonderful guy and a good friend and I know he was a great husband and father. His family always came first. I am good friends with his sister, Liz, and I had the pleasure of attending some parties recently with Alan there. He certainly will be missed.

I worked with Al back in the early 90's providing IT services to the Model Shop. It was often a tough environment but Al was such a pleasure to work with. He was always kind and patient as well as liked by everyone. He will be missed greatly by all of us who worked with him here at Delphi.

Alan was one of the best guys in our class at ERHS. I would run into him every once in a great while at Wegman's and he would always have the biggest smile on his face when he saw me. That's how he was with everyone, I'm sure, but it always made me feel so good. I'll always remember him just that way. God bless you Alan.
