Kimberly Smith Obituary

Smith, Kimberly Ann
Greece: Died suddenly in her sleep, early Thursday morning, September 20, 2007, at age 28. She is survived by her parents, Harold "Smitty" & Ann Smith; siblings, Terri (Dan) Schroeder; Robert (Stefanie) Smith & Jeffrey (Ivone) Smith; "other mom", Janet Call; nephews ("her special boys"), Ethan, Collin, Jeffrey Jr. & Zachary; niece, Kiah ("her little princess"); aunts and uncles, George (Beverly) Westacott & Donna (Arthur) Miceli; cousins, Jennifer (Sarah) Westacott, Dawn (Mariah) Miceli, Stacey (Kim) Miceli, Dr. Mark (Zeynep) Miceli & Dr. Melinda (Amy) Miceli; "other sisters," Beth Chirdo, Christy Kuhn, Jessica Jensen, Rebekah Jones, and Shannon Gubanich-just to name a few; and her special friend and partner, Matt Belleisle. Kimmy had so many dear friends that were part of her "family," all of whom had a special place in her life from childhood, High School (Hilton High School ('97)), College (the University of Buffalo ('01)), including all of the special friends she had in Virginia, at the Long Pond Pub & especially at Bernard's Grove. Most of Kim's friends were really like "sisters and brothers," aunts and uncles," "grandparents," and "nieces and nephews," to her. We can not begin to name them all-they will always be a cherished part of Kim's family's lives and her life-a life that ended much too soon.
Friends may call Monday, 4-7 P.M. at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Tuesday 5 P.M. at the Crescent Beach Hotel, 1372 Edgemere Drive. Interment held privately in Riverside Cemetery. To the family of Dear Kimmy, and all the friends that loved her, I cannot express my sadness by mere words. I am Pamela Davies, Meredith's daughter, and my Dad loved Kim like his second daughter, and is so brokenhearted with the loss of such a beautiful and kind woman, taken way too soon. I knew Kimmy, as well as my daughter Ashley knew her, and she was the kindest, sweetest, most giving person in the world. I know she loved the Yankees, and she and my Dad would watch the games over his house, and root for the home team. What I remember most about Kimmy, is her gentle nature, love for life, and kindness beyond belief. And her laughter was such beautiful music, I will miss her so much. My heart goes out to her family, and all the friends that she made their lives happier by being there for them. She was always there for the people she loved, and she loved so deeply. My heart breaks for her family, and she is an angel that was taken way too soon. I know she loved her kitties, and she had given me and my daughter a kitty play box, for our own cat, and I will treasure that forever. Kimmy was a beautiful soul, and had a heart that was beyond compare. My Dad, myself, and my daughter will truly miss her, and she is now an angel looking down upon us. She was an angel in life, and no one will ever forget all the hearts she touched. I am so very sorry for your loss, I loved your daughter so much. She touched a part of my heart, that will always remain, and when I look up at the stars at night, I know she is there... Goodnight, Sweet Princess, you will always be in our hearts...

It's just so hard to believe that this has happened. I will never forget the way you made me feel so welcome in this family. I will never forget your "light" and everytime I look up in the sky and see the sun shining so bright- I will think of you. You have impacted all of our lives in an amazing way and we will never forget you!!

It's hard to know where to start when so many thoughts are racing through my head but, as I have gone through the last couple of days with you on my mind, Kim, I am so happy to say that there are far too many memories in the time I have known you to fit onto this page. Meeting you and all of your guys' friends at UB, having a class together with McSweeney and Steve as T.A.'s!! Lots of laughs and good times in Buffalo, summer parties on Long Pond, Smitty's chicken and biscuits, the trip Jess and I took to Virginia, jumping off of Steve's porch into the snow!!! All of the great people I met through you in all of these places, I have realized the effect you have had on my life...I guess I have to say thank you for all of it. ALL of my heart, thoughts and prayers go out to Kim, her family, and friends.
