M. Slattery Obituary

Slattery, Sr. M. Jamesetta, SSJ
Rochester, New York: Died peacefully on September 20, 2007. Predeceased by her parents, Michael and Margaret Slattery; brother, Rev. James Slattery; sisters, Kay Hinz and Nan Chetterton. Survived by her sister, Josephine Tuohey; several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews and her Sisters in Community. Sister Jamesetta taught at St. Ambrose School, served as principal of Nazareth Academy, was director of the Lighted Schoolhouse Program (a project of Compensatory Education sponsored by Action for a Better Community) and became the founding Director of the Graduate Program at Nazareth College. For a time, Sister Jamesetta also served as interim President of Nazareth College. Sister received her Master's and Doctoral Degrees from the Catholic University of America.
Calling hours will be held at the Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse (150 French Rd.) on SUNDAY from 7-9 PM and MONDAY 2-4 PM with her Funeral Liturgy at 7:00 PM. Interment will be Tuesday at 9:00 AM in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be directed to the Sisters of St. Joseph Ministry Fund.
