Joan Canfaratta Whitney was a wonderful, intelligent, talented, faith-filled person. Every time I was in her presence I admired her genuine interest in all those around her. She had a great devotion to her immediate and extended family.

My very dearest Aunt Joan, thank you so very much for being such a kind, gentle and loving Godmother. Your courage and love of life, especially through your beautiful singing and playing your piano, are an inspiration to all of us. My heart is breaking now, but God has brought you home to His Heaven and you are with your loved ones who have gone before you, especially Uncle Howard. You are always in my heart and prayers. Your loving niece and Goddaughter, Marie
