Helmut Reimann Obituary
Wayland-Lima: Died unexpectedly on October 8, 2007, at age 62. He was born on July 15, 1945, in Pischelsdorf, Austria, the son of Johann and Ludwiga Reimann. Helmut grew up in Rochester and lived in Nebraska and Colorado prior to moving to Wayland, NY. He was a 25 year resident of Wayland, NY. He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Rochester, NY and attended Susquehanna College in PA on a football scholarship. He graduated from Adams State College in CO. He will be remembered for his enthusiasm, kindness, and amazing ability to make friends. Helmut was an avid, knowledgeable sports fan and looked forward to each new NFL season. He especially enjoyed sharing stories of his many travels throughout the US and the Bahamas and was very fond of his annual visits to Naples, FL. He worked at Gunlocke for 22 years. He was predeceased by his father, Johann Reimann in 1996; and nephew, Stephen C. Morse in 1999.
He is survived by his mother, Ludwiga Reimann of Wayland; sisters, Ellie (Gabriel) Luhowy of Lima, Charlotte Morse of Fredonia; brother, Oskar Reimann of Wayland; several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call Sunday only 4-7 PM at the O'Connell-Dougherty Funeral Home, 2041 Lake Ave., Lima. His Funeral Mass will be held at St. Rose Church on Monday at 10:30 AM. Interment, St. Rose Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Wayland Fire Department and Ambulance, 14 East Naples St., Wayland, NY 14572.

A reminder of how fragile life is. We shared time together at Holy Redeemer and then Aquinas. Helmut passed way too soon. Hope he is resting in peace!

We are sorry to hear of Helmut's passing. For the past 30 years we were his neighbor in the woods to the north. We always appreciated his wonderful maintenance of the right of way and the fact that he could keep an eye on our place when we were not there. His friend Paul from up the road once told me: "Helmut likes what you are doing over there", after we had spent a lot of time cleaning up downed trees. I am sorry I never had the chance to thank him personally. Rest easy Helmut. Sincerely, Jeff and Barbara

I was very sorry to hear of Helmut's passing. We were classmates at Holy Redeemer and later at Aquinas. He was a good friend. I feel badly that we lost touch and were never able to locate him again...

I was really sad to learn of Helmut's passing. I remember him fondly. He was a grammar school classmate at Holy Redeemer in Rochester. He was a sweet person, even then.

Truly sorry to read of Helmut's passing. I graduated Aquinas with Helmut in 63' and played on the football team with him. All my memories of him are good. He was a tough football player and a good friend.
