Jessie Halstead Obituary
Maui, HI: Formerly of Webster. Tues., Oct. 2, 2007, age 91. Predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Raymond C.; siblings, Gladys Lawson, Alfred Lancaster, H. James Lancaster, Grace Ender, Helen Reynolds and Frances Cole; grandson, Bryan Halstead. Survived by sons, David (Bonnie) of Rochester, Carl (Carol) of HI, Bruce of HI and Jon (Joan) of NJ; daughter, Gail Maybee of Walworth; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; special nieces, Grace Achter and Lois Ender; many other nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to a Memorial Service 4:00 P.M. Sat., Nov. 3 at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster. Interment, Webster Union Cemetery.

Such memories! Walking down the long driveway to lessons with Mrs. Halstead...the walk was always worth it-even in winter! The BEST (really the best) was when she would sit at the console and play for us...I can't tell you what that meant and the memories that it brings to mind. And, of course, recitals! They were a mix of anxiety and pride and of course lots of mistakes that no one seemed to mention when it was all over. Memories of Mrs. Halstead are rich and fine and wonderful! Mrs. Halstead was my organ teacher for many wonderful years. My twin and I would be dropped off at the end of her long driveway and we would walk up to the house. She always greeted us with a smile and we had the BEST lessons: they were supposed to be 30 minutes long and ended up 45 to 60 minutes because we had such fun!I remember her manicured nails and her jazzy style with fondness and affection.
