Rice, Warren Leland
Fairport: In Lawton, OK October 12, 2007, at age 89. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Shelley and Allen Z. Deutsch of Lawton, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Laura and Sarah Deutsch, of Lawton, Colleen Deutsch Wyrick and her husband, Walter, of Lawton, and Aaron Lee Deutsch and his wife, Gianna of Durango, Colorado; brother, Ford Rice, Simi Valley, California, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Warren Leland Rice was born on March 21, 1918 in Clyde, New York to Leroy and Emma Rice. He grew up in Clyde and graduated from Clyde High School in 1936. Warren joined the United States Navy and served in WWII. He married Mabel Gardner on May 4, 1946 in Fairport, New York. Warren retired from New York Central/CONRAIL after 42 years of service. Mr. and Mrs. Rice moved to Lawton, OK in July of 2005 to be with their daughter and grandchildren. Mrs. Rice died on August 5, 2007 in Lawton. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Elvin, Lawrence, Vreeland, and Ethan; and two sisters: Lucia and Elsie.
No prior calling. Friends and family may attend his funeral service on Thursday, October 18th at 10:00 AM, All Seasons Chapel, White Haven Memorial Park, Perinton, New York. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Galen Historical Society, P.O. Box 43 Clyde, New York 14433. An online guestbook and sympathy cards are available at www.grayfuneral.com.
