I will forever remember Brian and the heart as well as passion he exposed towards others. With his sincere and caring personality, he is a man we will never forget. Brian has touched numerous lives with his free spirit and pure heart he had within. He was such a lively man with interest in even your own personal life. At family gatherings he always asked me how my soccer team was doing for Olympia. Just this past year he was telling me about how he thought the Arcadia girls varsity soccer team was going to have a good season. Looking as how that the team has just won states; I believe that Brian would be extremely proud of them. Brian will most certainly be missed and we will always love him with all of our hearts.

Brian was such a great person. I can remember waking up at 5am to go fishing in the 1000 islands. None of us really seemed to have the luck that he did. He would always catch the biggest fish. Brian made the boresom wait for the fish to bite fun. He always knew how to make you smile or laugh. I love you and miss you Brian.

Meagan and Maura,
My heart goes out to you in such a sad and tragic time in your lives. Brian was an amazing person who never missed the opportunity to teach whatever he could to whomever he could. Even if it wasn't academically related. I remember when he tried to teach me to Wakeboard one year at the 1000 Islands and I just couldn't get the hang of it; he never got impatient nor gave up. Maura, your dad was like one of the best water skiers this family has ever seen! He had some serious skills out on the water! He would do anything he could to make us all laugh, the jokes were so horribly corny but they always worked...
Brian's compassion and warmth will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know him. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.
We love and miss you Brian!

Just as my dad said, I will soon be entering into the teaching profession and I can only hope that I am capable of achieving half of what Brian has done. It was quite evident that Brian was extremely proud of his profession. He would often give me great advice on many aspects of becoming a teacher, even if I didn’t ask. He definitely had a set of teaching ears. Anytime he heard anything related to a teaching method or question he perked up, stopped his current conversation just to help me out or ask me what I’ve been up to at Geneseo. That’s the kind of guy he was, always offering guidance or support. That’s why so many of his previous students turned out to offer their prayers. That’s why, when I graduate Geneseo and get in to the teaching field, I want nothing more than to be like Brian. I love you cousin. GO SABRES!

Brian was one of the most entertaining people I have ever met. He always knew when to make you laugh. There was something about him that just made you trust him even if you just met him. You knew that he would always be there for you and if you ever needed someone, he someone you could turn to. Brian taught me how to water ski and I'm glad he did because I wouldn't have been able to do it without him, everytime I fell he would get me right back up. He ended up in the middle of the river just so that I could get up on those water ski, even though he didn't even know how to swim! Brian just knew how to make things better and I will really miss that about him and i will really miss him. R.I.P Brian

Meagan and Maura~ Our hearts are heavy with grief and sadness. Brian loved you both so much. He was a PROUD husband and father. It showed in so much of what he did. Even in his smile as he looked at you both. He brought so much into all our lives. I'll remember him for so many things but most of all I'll remember and admire him for his true sense of family. He knew how important family and friends were and ALWAYS made time for them. Brian was a great part of our family and so easy to be around. He will be truly truly missed.
We wish and pray for strength and healing for you.

There is little to take from this tragedy except the realization that a good man was taken from us. My son is going to be a teacher and I thought he was in for a life of low pay and indifference to his profession, but after viewing the massive turnout at Brian's funeral, I am very pleased to know my son has taken this course of work. If he can affect only a small percentage of people Brian has, I will be a proud father.

While our hearts will never truly mend, we will take one day at a time and try to live as Brian would have wanted us to. His selflessness was undeniable. He was such a sincere and honest person. He was always interested in whatever you had to say and whenever he inquired about yourself or the family you knew he truly cared.
I will remember Brian for his genuine love of his family and friends – not to mention his wonderful sense of humor. I will forever continue to search for Abe Lincoln riding in a taxi on the back of the $5 bill.
He is so dearly missed.
With all my love,

Brian you were part of a very special family. You were loved by many for who you were. No one expected you to be any more or any less than what you were...a husband, a father, a brother-in-law, a son-in-law, a cousin, a nephew. You will be thought of fondly and you will be missed sorely. Every family gathering will be a reminder to us of what we had and we will treasure what we remember. We will see you again some day when we are all together in heaven.

May God be with you in your time of need. I worked with Brian for 2-1/2 years. Brian touched so many peoples hearts. The impressions he left were always positive and every lasting. I can not say I know how you feel, but I hope this will help knowing how much he made a difference in everyones lives. I remember one time I was in the break room pregnant with my twins. I was going through the phone book looking for daycare. He came in an asked what the matter was. I mentioned I was trying to find a daycare facility and was not doing well. People seem to be scared off as soon as you mention you are having twins. He said, let me get the number of the daycare he uses and try them. And within a few days he handed me the number. They were more than willing, except they did not have enough room for the twins. But it was the act of kindness that has stayed with me from your husband. It was a small gesture, but one well remembered and will always be. My twins are now 19 months old.
May God Bless you and your family. May thoughts and prayers go out to you.

I had the pleasure of having Mr. Harris for health (and advisement) in 2005 (my sophomore year). I have many wonderful memories from health class, and I can honestly say I laughed just about everyday from something Mr. Harris taught, did, or said. When we weren't laughing at one of his jokes, we were learning about "making healthy decisions" or hearing about the upcoming arrival of his daughter, Maura - he was so excited! Mr. Harris was one of a kind - funny, helpful, and well respected. He was one of the few teachers who was able to genuinely relate to his students, and everyone loved him for it! My most sincere condolences go out to your family - you are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless.

I am a senior at Greece Arcadia. I had Mr. Harris for health my sophmore year. He was the best teacher I ever had. He was always there for me, no matter what. He would give me the best advice, and when he didnt quite know what to say, he'd make me laugh instead. I always used to tell him that he was cheaper than any therapist, then he would joke that he might have to start charging. He could always make me smile, even when I really didnt want to. I'll never forget the times he let me skip class to hang out in his classroom, or when he let me borrow his Star Wars manga. He taught me so much, both in and out of class (and a lot more than I needed to know, too!). He was not only an amazing teacher, but a great friend too. I will miss him everyday. Good luck in the hard days to come. Im sure you will find plenty of support in the Greece community. Mr. Harris was loved very much by everyone.

Our thoughts are with you and your family at this very sad time. My son Devin, 6th grader at Odyssey this year, had Mr Harris for Home and Careers. He was deeply saddened to hear about Mr. Harris. Although he only knew him for a short time, Devin thought Mr. Harris was the best, he said he was funny, but made sure they got their work done. He said he was his favorite teacher so far in 6th grade. That goes to show the impact Mr. Harris had on his students. He made an impact in a very short time. I am sure that in time Devin would have really thought even more highly of him. I had the good fortune in meeting him at open house a few weeks ago and could see what Devin meant. He will be greatly missed by many people. Ours prayers go out to all of you who loved him and we thank you for sharing him with the rest of the world. God Bless you.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Meagan, Maura, and the Harris and Knapp families. I have known Brian as long as I can remember; from growing up in the St. Paul Lutheran community, to visiting with Brian, Meagan, and Maura at the Knapp houshold in Hilton.
