To Betty’s Family and Friends

Betty was a lovely and funny person, to have met, and to have worked with.
One of the most endearing memories is when Betty did not realize the PA system was on and she sung a whole Beetles tune. To everyone’s delight!
I am truly pleased to have known her. She will be greatly missed, but not with out a bit a humor mixed about and what a nice thing to have left behind.

I worked with Betty Jean at The Penfield Home Depot. At first, I thought Betty Jean didn't like me, but I quickly realized that she cared for me very much. I began to trust her, my guard fell, and I soon revered her. I always knew what to expect from her. She would always tell me how it was, in her stern voice. She always watched out for me. She was the eyes and ears of that store, and everyone knew it. Chatting with Betty Jean in the phone center was always thought provoking, and entertaining. Whenever I was struggling at work, she would find a way to let me know I was doing a good job. She trusted me, just as I trusted her.
I last spoke to Betty Jean at her residence, when I was calling to wish her a get well soon. She insisted that I use her as a personal reference on my resume'. I felt as though that was the biggest complement, coming from a woman I respected so much.
I appreciate Betty Jean, and I am sad to know I cannot talk to her anymore. My thoughts and prayers go out to Betty Jean and her family.

To the Family of the amazing Betty Jean, my deepest condolences.

I worked with Betty Jean at Home Depot for 5 1/2 years. We went from merely co-worker to a relationship that defies definition. .

She was my friend and a shoulder to cry on. She was my confidant and a source of sage advice. From everything from business, to love, from men, to child rearing (though sometimes they are the same thing;)), she always had time to listen, a story to tell, and wisdom to share. She was a tremedous source of comfort in times of sadness or hardship.

She helped me to find my sense of personal value and joy for living, and how very important it is to live, but to remember to play. She was one of the main forces in my decision to do something better with my life and keep my priorities straight. To remember: it is more important to laugh with my children than have a clean house.

I will miss her so much. God Bless you, Betty Jean, and all the many, many people whose life you made brighter just from knowing you. And God Bless all who you leave behind and may they be comforted knowing how well loved you are.

Dearest Cousins - I am so saddenened to hear of the passing of my dear cousin Betty Jean. We were stuck together like glue when we were young, she and I were inseparable, doing every thing together from watching the younger kids to talking about boys and what we were going to be when we grew up. We missed togetherness as we grew older, each going our separate ways but she was always in my heart and thoughts. I had the extreme joy of seeing her again during the last two family reunions and am blessed to have had that time to reconnect with her. I always missed the little girl I grew up with and now will miss the great lady that she was. My heart is heavy for all of my cousins. Sleep in peace dear BJ - I'll love you always.

To Betty Jean's family: I had the pleasure of working with Betty Jean at the Home Depot since June 2005. I was a transfer from another store and on my first day at Penfield when she received an incoming call for me her page went out to the "IMA of lumber". Somehow I could not pick up the call and called Betty Jean to find out what happened. "Hi, my name is Barb and I'm the new IMA of lumber and I can't pick up that call." Betty Jean stated: "I know who you are, it looks like the call has hung up and I thought you were suppose to start here last week?" From that day on, I humbly began to realize, it didn't matter to Betty Jean if you knew her for 7 years, 7 days, or 7 minutes she made it a point to know you. When I would ask her how she was feeling she would talk about "not sweating the small stuff", then she would start to give "motherly" advice on my life. Not only did she give advice she would follow up the next time she saw me and asked if I followed it. Her strength and compassion will always be with me. With Deepest Sympathy for your loss, Barbara Niggli

I had the pleasure of knowing Betty Jean since 1989. We worked together at Scrantoms and then later at Home Depot in 2002. BJ had wisdom like no one I've ever known. Whenever she spoke, I wanted to hear everything she said. I learned a lot from her, and we laughed a lot too. She was a great lady and I will miss her terribly. There will be no one like her ever.I send my prayers and deepest sympathy to her family.

My heart goes out to all of the Spinelli family. I worked with Betty Jean seven years ago at Home Depot and I was saddened to hear that she had passed. She was a wonderful woman and the most selfless person I have ever known. She will be missed.

To Betty Jean's family-
Among all of my husband's wonderful cousins, Betty Jean was the one to make me laugh about something every time we talked. Through good times and bad times, she always maintained a positive attitude. She always pointed out the humorous side of any situation and taught me the importance of "not sweating the small stuff." Even as sick as she was last week in the hospital, she made me cry thru the tears.I will remember her words whenever emotion gets the best of me, and will pass on her simple but true words of wisdom. A salute to Carla, her friend Karen, her children and sisters for the tender loving care they to provided her during her illness.
