Procopio, Bernard P. "Bernie" "Ben"
Gates: Wednesday, October 24, 2007, at age 86. Predeceased by his first wife, Alina Procopio; son, Dr. Lawrence Procopio; parents, John and Anna Procopio; sister, Josephine Walker; brother, Richard Procopio; and sister-in-law, Doris Procopio. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Procopio; sons, Donald Procopio and Stephen (Bonnie) Procopio; step-daughters, Ruth Blackmore, Marilyn (Jon) Doser and Barbara (Frank) Laghezza; grandsons, Matthew and Jason Procopio; Galen, Seth and Joshua Doser; granddaughters, Jessica Procopio, Becky and Rachel Laghezza; brothers, Thomas P. Procopio, John Procopio Jr.; sisters, Terri (Sam) Russo, Matilda Ann Procopio and Kathleen Procopio; sisters-in-law, Gay Semrau, Ann (Bernie) Bleier, Gloria Viggiani and Mona Procopio; many nieces, nephews and good friends.
Bernie was a kind and gentle man who loved and was loved by his family and friends. He enjoyed life and remained quite active throughout while especially enjoying golf in his later years. He retired from Lightnin / SPX in 1984 as foreman of the Quality Control Department with over 30 years of service. He will truly be missed.
Friends may call Sunday, 1-5PM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Road, Gates. On Monday morning, October 29, friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 9:30 in St. Theodore's Church. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Rd. North 14609 or to Lifetime Care, 3111 Winton Rd. South, 14623, in his memory. Many special thanks to Lifetime Care Hospice for their support in his final days.
