Daniel Merz Obituary
Rush: October 27, 2007, at age 74. He was predeceased by his first wife Emma Grantina Merz in 1986. Dan was a member of I.B.E.W Local Union #86, the Lima Gun Club and St. Joseph's Church in Rush. He is survived by his wife Nancy M. Merz; children, Mary Diltz, Kathleen Bauman, Daniel Merz, Jr., Thomas Merz, Elizabeth (Scott) Christ. Step children, Brian Mellis and Donna (David) Butterbaugh; grandchildren, Blossom Merz, Jeffrey Pembroke, Jennifer Paynter, Nichole Bailey, Rachel Burns, Grant Bauman, Sonny Jenkins, Mathew Merz and Morgan Christ. Step grandchildren Jessica (Kevin) Avery, Dustin (Cheryl) Butterbaugh and Julia (Jason) Ciaizza; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry Merz, Bob "Mort" (Joanne) Merz, Dale (Mary) Merz; sister, Jean (Bill) Humphrey; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Monday, October 29, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc., 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls. His Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, October 30, in St. Joseph's Church, 6105 Rush-Lima Road, Rush, NY at 10:30 am, the Rev. James Hewes, Officiating. Burial, Pine Hill Cemetery, Rush. Memorials may be made to the Pluta Cancer Center, 125 Red Creek Drive, Rochester, NY 14623 or to Lifetime Care, 3111 Winton Rd. S., Rochester, NY 14623.

We knew Dan for a brief moment in his life but loved him immediately. He was friendly and fun and loving and just plain joyful. He will be missed forever. With deepest sympathy to the entire Merz family. Love, Barb and Bob
