Edmond Spencer Obituary

Spencer, Edmond S., Sr.
Holley: Edmond Seth Spencer, Sr., Holley, New York, beloved father, died October 30, 2007, at age 90. Born January 31, 1917 in Batavia, NY, Edmond married Ruth Goettel in 1938 (deceased 6/24/99). He attended RIT, served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and worked as a papermaker at Kodak from 1936 to 1975. A member of Ridgemont Golf Club, Ed played golf for 72 years. He was an avid gardener, carpenter, woodworker and cook. He is survived by daughters, Catherine (Eugene) Henn, Rochester, NY; Carolyn (Walter A.) Hazelton, Fairport, NY; Lorraine Capparell, Palo Alto, CA; son Edmond S. (Linda) Spencer, Jr., Hilton, NY; grandchildren: Alan (Kim) Hazelton, Rochester, NY; Janet (Michael) Kardos, Cross River, NY; Amy (Geoff) Okarma, Sacramento, CA; Sarah, Scott and Amanda Spencer, Hilton, NY; David (Alicia) Henn, Rochester, NY; and great-grandchildren: Andrew Hazelton, Melanie and Arthur Kardos; and Stassa and Lydia Henn.
Memorial service will be at 11 AM, Monday, November 5, 2007, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2435 Lake Rd. (Rt. 19), Clarkson, NY. His body is an anatomical gift to the U of R's Strong Memorial Hospital. Contributions may be made in his memory to Alzheimer's Association, 435 E. Henrietta Rd., Rochester, NY 14620.
