Richard Merkel Obituary
Rochester: November 4, 2007. Predeceased by Bernard and Lauretta Merkel. Survived by brother Robert Merkel, sisters Patricia Tiefert, Jeanne (Frank) Limoli, nieces and nephews, David, Steven, Jaime, Karyn, and Mark. Many relatives and friends, especially Glenn and Sandy Paprocki and Bill Russell.
A memorial mass will be held Tuesday, November 6, 12:00pm at St. Catherine of Siena in Mendon. Contributions may be made in his memory to American Cancer Society, JOI/Bailey, 1400 Winton Rd. N., Rochester, NY 14609.

Because I spent so much time at Uncle Bernard & Aunt Laurie's house, Rick was like a 4th brother to me. My favourite memories of Rick involve rides in his van, and Dude. He put up a long and valiant fight, and has now found well-deserved peace from his suffering. Will be thinking of all of you tomorrow and will say a special prayer for Rick.
