Johnston, Lidia I.
Pemberville, OH: Lidia I. Johnston, age 90, of Pemberville, OH passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2007 at Otterbein Portage Valley Retirement Village Pemberville, OH. On August 16, 1917 she was born to Romano and Adele Martinelli in Solvay, NY. Lidia married Edwin Johnston on November 24, 1939 in Tully, NY and he preceded her in death on December 7, 1996. She was a manager at a restaurant, volunteered at Hospice after her husband passed away and had worked on several food and library committees. Her various interest were to read, take walks, square dance and play Dominoes.
Surviving Lidia is sons: Edwin (Carol) Johnston of Fairport, NY: Kenneth (Diane) Johnston of Luckey, OH: daughter: Elaine Johnston of Portage, OH; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Lidia was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter Ruth Esther and sister Irma Balduzzi.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday November 10, 2007 at Otterbein-Portage Valley Retirement Village Auditorium Pemberville, OH. Immediately following services there will be a time of gathering and refreshments in the dining area. Graveside service will be held at a later date in Bridgeport Cemetery, Seneca Falls, NY. Officiating will be Pastor Lindy Maurice-Saum. Those giving a memorial contribution may wish to consider Otterbein-Portage Valley or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
